Cy Springs Student Council will be hosting a drive-in movie night at 5:45 p.m. on Friday at the soccer field. Entry is $4 per person.

The movies that will be playing are “Halloweentown” and “Home Alone (New York)”, which the Cy Springs Student Council held two polls for. The first poll consisted of Halloween movies such as  “Hocus Pocus”, “Halloweentown,” “Monster House,” and the “Adams Family.” The second poll consisted of Christmas movies, which was the “Night Before Christmas,” “The Grinch That Stole Christmas,” “Home Alone (New York),” and “Polar Express.”

“We hope this event gathers enough revenue to plan even more events,” said STUCO president Kachi Akamelu.

The movie event will only allow Cy Springs students to enter to watch the selected movies. The students must bring their identification badges in order to enter. The drive-in movie night will also hold concessions open for food and drinks.

"It started because I think not enough seniors have school spirit, and this is something that not only seniors, but all grades can show out for," said senior Angelica Hutson, who wrote the proposal for the event.

The movie night will give students an option to do something school-related that isn’t a game or play.

"We're excited for the opportunity for students at Springs to enjoy this chance to bond, and enjoy a night out together," said sponsor Ashley Smith.
