“Men of Honor is an excellent program that gives students the platform to learn the skills needed to go out and pursue their post-secondary goals”, said assistant principal Kenneth Simpson. “It shows them they are able to go and meet professionals in certain businesses and get that real world experience of meeting people who are doing things they may want to do one day.”
On the final day of Student Empowerment week, a Student Empowerment Brunch will be held from 7:20 -9:30 a.m. Business attire will be required to attend the brunch. Girls in Pearls will be asking ladies to wear black attire with a string of pearls. Pearls will be available for students to borrow. Guys in Ties will be asking men to wear a collared shirt with a tie. Ties will be available for students to borrow. Both groups will be taking a group photo in front of the school during third period.
“ Student Empowerment Week is seven days to cherish all different kinds of students for who they are regardless of race, gender or sexuality and that’s why I love it,” said senior Oyinlola Haastrup.
