Fashion Show shows off video game, food fashion
On Friday, Cypress Springs Fashion Design held its annual Fashion Show in the auditorium to showcase all the outfits designed by the advanced fashion design class.
This year’s theme was “Video Games and Snack Attack,” and was hosted by English III teacher Gary Hill. Some of the video games displayed were “Legend of Zelda,” “Just Dance,” “Pokemon Go” and “Pacman.” Takis, Hot Cheetos, Wing Stop, and Whataburger were a few snacks transformed into outfits as well.
“I really enjoyed myself,” said senior model D’Erica Lewis. “I love walking the runway and modeling in general, so I really felt in my element.”
This year’s show was a team effort from the cosmetology, technical theatre department, and YMPA. The group performed to the iconic song “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan. Each song showcased a video game or snack, and was assigned a makeup artist and hairdresser from cosmetology. They based each makeup look on the outfits designed by the fashion design students. The technical theatre department designed the lights for each song, and took control of the music for the students.
“I really enjoyed receiving the experience to show people my work especially being a fashion one student,” said senior Michael Reyna. “I can’t wait to go out into the real world and further my fashion career.”
