The drumline is directed by Sarah Harris, who is now in her second year at Cy Springs. The drumline has been involved in numerous activities in the school including hallway pep rallies, and playing for elementary students.

“We believe that it is a wonderful opportunity for us to share our love of music with the community for a great cause, and to represent Cypress Springs High School,” said Harris.

The Walk To End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s. In detail, 77 percent of the money goes to care, support and research for Alzheimer’s, 19 percent goes to fundraising, and 4 percent goes to the Alzheimer’s administrative.

“We appreciate all of the opportunities to volunteer and represent our school in great ways,” said senior drumline captain Alissa Gray.“Especially for events that support those who go through life changing conditions, such as Alzheimer’s.”
